Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have been crazy busy these last two months! We moved to a house in Godfrey on August 8, on the 12th Nadia turned 1 year old, and on the 15th we had her birthday party. We've been doing a lot of work on our house, and I think we are finally (sort of) seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! We are taking Nadia to get her picture taken tonight, and as always I'm nervous about it! They always turn out great, but this time I really don't know how we're going to get her to hold still - they just may have to be action shots. We went for her 1 year check up a week ago, and she is growing like crazy!

Nadia at one year...

...weighs 20 lbs, 8 oz (25-50th percentile - only 6 ounces more than at her 9 month check up!)

...is 31 inches tall (95th percentils - she has grown almost 3 inches in 3 months!)

...is very demanding and has quite the temper. Her doctor says the temper should peak somewhere around 15 months.

...is obsessed with touching leaves and lights.

...calls everything DaDa! Especially Daddy, PaPa, leaves, Elmo, her baby, and our dog. It should make Eric feel good, because those are things she really loves!

...lets us know when she wants to go to bed. She will get her blankie and start saying night-night, or sometimes she'll get it and head down the hallway to her room.

...says night-night, MaMa, (occasionally) Mommy, Mum Mum (her favorite snacks)

...knows what a piggy or cow say - she moos through her teeth for a cow, and she snorts for a pig

...gets in trouble for getting in the trash can and the dog's food on a daily basis.

We think she's pretty perfect, even though she's a little turkey sometimes!

  1. I read your latest post to Chad and he was like, "that is so cool. Nadia lets them know when she is ready for bed. Do you think Malia will ever do that?"

Eric and I welcomed our little girl, Nadia Ann, into the world on August 12, 2008. She definitely keeps us busy, but being parents is so much more rewarding than we ever could've imagined!
